Family chiropractic in Farmington and the Four Corners

A chiropractor who explains first

A small practice on East Main Street. Dr. Dolores Castaneda and Dr. Dwayne Alston see adults and families, put the cost of care in writing and tell you the risks before any care begins.

A letter from the doctor

Before you book, here is how I work

I would rather you know what a chiropractor does before you walk in.

I use my hands to adjust the joints of the spine and the rest of the body, and I may suggest a few movements to do at home. I do not promise results, because results vary from person to person, and I tell you the risks of any care before I give it. Rare serious problems have been reported after neck adjustments, and if what I hear tells me that you need a physician first, I will say so.

My front desk and I put the cost of care in writing before your visit. The page on how fees work says what sets the fee and what the first visit includes, and you may say no to any part of a visit, at any point.

I would be glad to meet you and your family.

Questions before you book

What happens at my first visit?

You check in at the front desk, talk with the doctor and have a hands-on exam. The doctor explains what they found and what a plan could look like, and you get the cost in writing before any care. X-rays are taken only when medically necessary. A first visit takes about 45 minutes.

Is chiropractic care safe?

Every kind of health care has some risk. Soreness after an adjustment is common and usually short. Rare serious problems have been reported after neck adjustments, so your doctor explains the risks before any neck adjustment, and you may say no to any part of a visit. Some symptoms need a physician first: a sudden severe headache or neck pain, new weakness or numbness, chest pain, or loss of bladder or bowel control. Call 911 or go to an emergency room.

Do you take my insurance?

We bill most PPO plans and some others, and not every plan. A plan may pay part of a chiropractic visit, all of it or none. Call us before your first visit and we will tell you what we bill. The page on how fees work has the details.

What if I do not use insurance?

You pay for the visit you have. If you do not use insurance, you have the right to a Good Faith Estimate. Ask us, and we give it to you in writing before your visit.
